KARACHI: Turf accountants had a field day as three outsiders reigned supreme in a five-race card of the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

The five lengths victory of unknown pedigree bay filly, Shandar Love, in the second race changed the mood of punters in the betting ring as co-favourites mare Money Penny and colt Silk Master had to be content with second and third places. Bay horse Business Man completed the board among seven starters.

After winning two races, Shandar Love finished third in her last outing.

The trend continued in the next race as long shot four-year-old dark bay colt Tejori sprinted to two lengths victory over filly Bang Bang to make amends for earlier loss. Three-year-old bay filly Honey Queen that was opened 20 to 100 favourite settled for third place ahead of colt Drone among seven competitors.

Yet again in the fourth race, second favourite five-year-old dark bay mare Snow Fairy overcame public fancy bay colt Karobar by three length and-a-quarter. Bay horse Countach and filly Lacoste followed the two in same order. Earlier, the field was reduced to six following withdrawal of All The Way before the race.

At the outset, rider Sohail Ahmed piloted home 60 to 100 favourite filly Khazana owned and trained by Mohyuddin to four lengths victory over Grey Song while senior rider M. Nasir galloped fancied six-year-old bay horse Swell Victory home by five lengths over filly Sensational. Gold Horse edged Happy Lady by head in a photo-finish to seize third place.

Nasir has succeeded Sohail on Swell Victory after the latter twisted his right knee while riding on his mount Karobar in the fourth race.
