KHAR: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl provincial general secretary Maulana Shujaul Mulk said on Wednesday that his party would continue its efforts for implementation of Sharia in the country.

Addressing workers convention here, he said that Pakistan came into being in the name of Islam, but successive rulers were not sincere to implement Islamic laws.

He said that JUI-F was struggling to make Pakistan a real Islamic, democratic and welfare state.

“JUI-F will continue its efforts to make the country a truly Islamic welfare state for which our forefathers and religious leaders rendered sacrifices,” Mr Mulk said. He said that JUI-F was the largest religious party of the country and it had always opposed the elements who wanted to impose Sharia through force.

He said that his party believed that electoral system was the best tool for implementation of Islamic laws.

Referring to propaganda against religious institutions, the JUI-F leader said that it was a part of an international campaign against Islam and its institutions.

He said that seminaries had always played due role in promotion of peace and tolerance among the community. He said that his party would show full resistance if anyone tried to target religious institutions.

“We assure the government that seminaries have no links with any terrorist group,” he said and warned that if the government targeted any institution without evidence then over two million seminary students would protect their institutions.
