QUETTA: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court on Tuesday set aside notification declaring respondent Sardar Khan Rind as retuned candidate on the peasant seat of district Kachhi.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Muhammad Noor Meskanzai and Justice Muhammad Ejaz Swati announcing the judgement stated that the acceptance of nomination papers by the returning officer was illegal and unjustified.

Upholding the petition submitted by Taj Muhammad, the court said acceptance of nomination papers were against the law as circumstances prove that the respondent neither falls in the peasant or the worker category.

Advocate Baz Muhammad Kakar appeared on behalf of petitioner and respondent was represented by Syed Ayaz Zahoor Advocate, while assistant advocate general appeared on behalf of the state.
