Sharif calls for good governance

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the development of Gwadar Port and construction of Pakistan-China Economic Corridor will bring prosperity to Balochistan.

Presiding over a meeting on matters relating to Balochistan at the PM House on Friday, he asked the provincial government to ensure good governance in the province.

The prime minister said the government was providing increased funds for the development of the province with focus on infrastructure projects.

Balochistan is rich in minerals, hence federal and provincial governments should work in harmony for its optimum utilisation, he said.

The meeting also discussed matters relating to the PML-N.

Leader of House in Senate Raja Zafarul Haq, Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid, Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Minister for Safron Abdul Qadir Baloch, Balo­chistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo, Senator Sardar Yaqoob Nasir, MNA Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Balochistan Minister for Mines and Minerals Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Political Secretary to PM Dr Asif Kirmani attended the meeting.
