KARACHI: The Demo­crats swept the Karachi Press Club elections for 2015 on Saturday. According to the results announced by the election commission, Fazil Jamili of daily Jang was elected president with 458 votes. His rival, Anwer Sen Roy of BBC Urdu Service got 324 votes.

Nawab Qureshi of daily Amn was elected vice president with 507 votes, followed by Mairaj Fatima of Dawn with 316 votes.

A.H. Khanzada of A-Lite TV was elected secretary with 541 votes, defeating Ayub Jan Sar­handi of Daily News who bagged 291 votes.
