CHARSADDA: Police killed two suspected miscreants after they attacked cops with a grenade at Wacha Wala locality of Shabqadar here on Sunday.

Shabqadar SHO Gul Sheed Khan told Dawn that police personnel were busy in checking vehicles on a road at Wacha Wala area when two miscreants riding a motorbike hurled a grenade on them. The attackers, he said, started fleeing when police retaliated.

The police chased the miscreants and opened fire on them while they were ascending a hillock. Both the suspects fell down from the hill after a grenade they were carrying reportedly went off, killing the both on the spot, claimed the police official.

The police took the bodies into custody and recovered two pistols and a hand grenade from the spot.

The official said that both the outlaws were sporting long beards. The bodies were brought to police station for identification.
