KARACHI: Spinner Arif Yaqoob produced a superb spell of bowling to help Advance Telecom complete the semi-final line-up of the 19th Hinopak Trophy KCCA Inter-departmental Cricket league with an exciting eight-run victory against Al-Amin Salt Refinery on Saturday.

The leg-spinner grabbed six wickets for 38 runs as Al-Amin Salt Refinery were dismissed for 179 in the 44th over while chasing 188 in the last quarter-final at the KCCA Stadium.

Saud Shakeel was the main run-getter for the losing side with 44 which included four boundaries. S.M. Tahami scored 35 and Hassan Abdullah 29.

Earlier, Advance Telecom were all out for 187 in 41 overs with Aaqib Rizvi contributing 39 (two fours), Touseef Khan 32, Amit Ravi 28 and Fawad Afridi 25.

Slow left-armer Hassan Khan captured three wickets for 26 runs.

Both semi-finals will played on Monday with K-Electric taking on Sindh Police at the KCCA Stadium and Advance Telecom facing Pakistan Navy at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground.
