Zoya to face Sadia in squash final today

KARACHI: Top seed Zoya Khalid look poised to recapture the title after she brushed aside fourth seed Rushana Mehboob in four games to reach final of the fifth Hyderabad Commissioner Cup National Women’s Squash Championship at the Hyderabad Gymkhana courts on Saturday.

According to results available here, Zoya, who won the title in 2010, upset defending champion Rushana in four games semi-final that lasted half-an-hour 11-6, 11-4, 6-11, 14-12.

This is Zoya’s third straight final of the year and the title has eluded her on the two occasions.

Zoya now takes on third seed Sadia Gul in the all-Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) Sunday’s title clash after the latter shocked second seed Riffat Khan 11-8, 8-11, 11-6, 11-6 in 32-minutes other semi-final.

Sadia had represented the country at the 2010 Asian Games.
