PESHAWAR: Khyber Agency clinched the second Governor Khyber Pakhtu­nkhwa Fata Athletics Champ­ionship by securing 55 points.

The championship concluded at the Qayyum Sports Complex on Wednesday with Qasim winning the best athlete of the year 2014 award.

FR Peshawar with 30 points secured the second position while North Waziristan Agency grabbed the third place with 20 points.

Qasim, who won gold medals in 100metre, 200m, 400m races and bronze medal in the 800m race, was declared the best athlete.

In the 4x100m relay, Khyber Agency won the gold followed by FR Peshawar and Mohmand Agency. Jibran and Hakimullah won the golds in javelin throw and high jump events respectively.
