Obama phones PM Nawaz, regrets Peshawar incident

WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama telephoned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday and expressed his condolences over the death of 141 people — including 132 children — killed in the attack on Peshawar's Army Public School.

Obama called Sharif and conveyed his deepest condolences and sympathies from the people of United States on the brutal massacre.

"We stand by the people of Pakistan in this hour of grief," Obama said, adding that the US "would do anything to support Pakistan in its war against terrorists".

The 141 were killed when insurgents stormed the army-run school in Peshawar on Tuesday and systematically went from room to room, shooting children during an eight-hour killing spree.

The attack was claimed by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as revenge for a major military offensive in the Federally Administered Tribal Regions (Fata).

I sincerely express my deepest condolences and sympathies to Pakistan and particularly the parents of the innocent children who have been massacared in such a brutal manner. May god give strength to the parents to bear with this terrible loss

If Mr. Obama you really sympathize with us then please ask your forces in Afghanistan to hunt down TTP terrorists hiding in Afghanistan as reported by the media.

Im being a citizen of globe ask you all political giants, who suffers in the end and where is the technology or intelligence? 141 innocent (children & adults) died, some more Army Public School, something is not right in this instance !!! May Allah gives strength to bear such an irrepairable loss to the dear parents and Allah bless all the departed souls. Ameen !!!

Where are we as a nation if all we can do is send our condolences on behalf of nearly 150 massacred children! in the 70years I have lived on this planet I have never heard of such a horrific act against children. our president must mobilize the world community immediately to act against any group that would ever do this highest of crime against humanity.This is not a phone call offense. This is what the UN is for. Swift and immediate response to bring the perpetrators to justice. The world must stand up for its children Now. President Obama you must bring this to the floor of the united nations now. All the world is watching a call won't do!!!!
