ISLAMABAD: Adviser to PPP’s Parliamentary Group in the National Assembly and Senate Izhar Amrohvi passed away at his residence on Monday. He was 82.
Mr Amrohvi, who remained a close associate of PPP’s founder chairman and former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, had played a key role in the drafting of the 1973 Constitution.
He also served in various capacities during Benazir Bhutto’s terms as prime minister. He was considered to be the main architect of the opposition’s protest during the regime of Gen Pervez Musharraf.
Mr Amrohvi leaves behind his wife, a son and four daughters to mourn his death. He will be laid to rest at Islamabad’s H-8 Graveyard after Zuhr prayers on Tuesday.
