LAHORE: The Lahore Zoo celebrated the ‘World Monkey Day’ here on Sunday.

A good number of children from different schools participated in the celebrations. The children in high spirits and great excitement visited different cages of monkeys and fed them. There are five species of monkeys at the zoo and this particular animal is the most loved source of entertainment for visitors.

Face painting, colouring and drawing competitions based on monkeys generated a lot of interest among children who passionately drew drawings.

Over a 100 children participated in the monkey day celebrations and many of them were wearing monkey masks given by the zoo.

They were given information about monkeys and their habitat. Children enjoyed the most feeding to monkeys and their long jumps.
