PESHAWAR: Usman Ahmed Bilour, the younger son of Awami National Party late leader Bashir Ahmad Bilour, died of cardiac attack here on Tuesday. He was 43.

Usman Bilour, a former president of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was taken to the Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar after he complained of chest pain on Monday night, said his family members. But he couldn’t survive there.

Like his family, Usman Bilour also fought election from NA-1 in 2002, but lost to Jamaat-i-Islami’s Shabbir Ahmad Khan.

His father, Bashir Bilour, a former senior minister, was killed by Taliban in a suicide attack in congested Qissa Khawani Bazaar.

The deceased is nephew of ANP senior leader and MNA Ghulam Ahmad Bilour and Senator Ilyas Ahmed Bilour.

His funeral prayers were held in Wazir Bagh, attended by ANP Senators Mohammad Adeel, Abdul Nabi Bangash and the party’s provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti.

He was lowered to the grave in his native Said Hassan Pir village in Peshawar.

Meanwhile, Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan condoled the death and prayed to Allah to grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss.

The governor also appreciated the services rendered by the deceased for economic as well as political development of people.

The governor also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul, according to a handout issued here.
