QUETTA: Frontier Corps (FC) have foiled major terror bids during two separate raids in Mastung and Chaman, Pakistan's bordering town with Afghanistan.

The Deputy Inspector General FC, Brigadier Tahir Mehmood on Thursday told reporters that the forces conducted a raid in Rehman Kahol area of Chaman and seized a large cache of arms and ammunition.

"Over 1000 kilogram explosive materials were recovered during the raid," he said.

Brigadier Tahir said some arrests were also made during the operation but preferred not to reveal the number and identity of suspects owing to an ongoing interrogation.

"Weapons were being brought to carry out subversive activities in Balochistan," he added.

The Deputy FC chief stated that the forces also conducted a raid in Kanak area of Mastung, in which thousands of rounds, a motorcycle and a laptop were recovered.

These raids have come in Chaman and Mastung in the aftermath of sharp rise in violent attacks and bomb explosions in Quetta and other towns of Balochistan.
