CHARSADDA: Two people were killed and 15 others were injured as rival groups exchanged fire during a wedding party at Khanmai area here on Sunday.

The injured were shifted to Lady Ready Hospital in Peshawar.

According to police and eyewitness, the families of Qias Khan and Himayatullah were invited to the marriage party of Kiramat Shah’s sons in Ghazgi area, and when the rival parties come face to face they opened indiscriminate fire on each other.

Wasifullah, son of Himayatullah of Charbagh, Turangzi was killed on the spot, while a nine-year-old Haris, son of Waris of Qazikhel Jan village, succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital.

Some of the injured guests were identified as Hassan Ali, Malak Mukamal Shah, Hameed Khan, Khawar, Mohammad Anwar, Wisal Khan, Amirullah, Muneef, Mujahid, Naveed, Khalid and Samiullah.

The injured had to be shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital as DHQ hospital, Charsadda, lacked basic health facilities.

Sources said that the condition of a few of the injured was critical.

The sources said that cross FIRs were lodged into the incident with the Umerzai police station.
