KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court remanded on Saturday three suspects in prison in the Karachi airport attack case.

Sarmad Siddiqui, Asif Zaheer and Nadeem, aka Burger and Mullah, have been booked for allegedly providing logistical support, funds and weapons to around 10 slain attackers who stormed the airport in June.

After the end of their physical remand, the police reproduced them in court and Judge Bashir Ahmed Khoso of the ATC-I sent them to prison on judicial remand till Nov 29.

The court asked the investigating officer to submit a investigation report.

Indian fishermen

A judicial magistrate remanded on Saturday 61 Indian fishermen in prison for fishing in Pakistani waters.

The maritime security agency detained the fishermen along with 11 fishing vessels after finding them catching fish inside the Exclusive Economic Zone of Pakistan and handed them over to the police for legal action.

The fishermen were produced before Judicial Magistrate (west) Ashfaq Awan and he sent them to jail on 14-day judicial remand.

They were booked under Sections 3/4 of the Foreigners Act and 3/9 of the Fisheries Act at the Docks police station.
