RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Commissioner Zahid Saeed on Friday assured the business community that the metro bus project would be completed by January 30 at all costs.

“The project was initially supposed to be ready by December 31, 2014, but due to the sit-ins in Islamabad the pace of work slowed down.”

Mr Saeed, who is also the metro bus project director, added that the government was fully aware of the problems being faced by the citizens and the business community in the city and was trying to complete the work on time.

He stated this during a visit to the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).

Speaking on the occasion, RCCI president Syed Asad Mashadi said the business community and the residents of the Rawalpindi city were facing lots of problems due to the construction work on the metro bus track.

He said business activities on Murree Road had almost come to halt causing fi nancial losses to the traders.
