Indian JI emir favours dialogue on Kashmir

LAHORE: Jamaat-i-Islami Hind (India) emir Maulana Jalalud Din Umri says his party favours dialogue between India and Pakistan on all issues, including Kashmir.

He was talking to the media at the airport after arriving here on Wednesday to participate in the JI Pakistan’s annual Ijtema (congregation) beginning from Friday at Minar-i-Pakistan.

“All issues, including Kashmir, can be resolved through bilateral talks between India and Pakistan,” he said.

Maulana Umri said the JI-Hind had strongly condemned the prosecution of the JI leaders in Bangladesh and also presented a memorandum to the BD envoy in New Delhi, stating that their convictions were a gross violation of human rights.

He hoped the issues facing the Muslim world would be discussed at the JI congregation.

Earlier, JI-Pakistan naib emir Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, secretary general Liaqat Baloch and foreign wing in-charge Abdul Ghaffar Aziz received Maulana Umri, who was accompanied by Dr Raziul Islam Nadvi, at the airport.

Time for these terrorists to stop their illegal activities and join the main stream. India and Pakistan are mature enough and they know what to do when? No more advise from such people is needed.

agree with maulana only two point need to be added. 1. dialogue party is Ind-Pak no UN or hurriyat. 2. dialogue can not go under shadow of terrorism.

No doubt that any issues between India and Pakistan should be solved through dialogue....But he need not have to say that along with Pakistani JI team. By being seen with Pakistani JI team, any Muslim leader (Outside Pakistan) will hurt his own political prospects greatly......

This is not a political party and hence no say in state affair . We try to keep these saffron-clad and beard men away from politics . Only middle-class and upper-middle class people of India have a say in political affair .

Dialogue is OK under the following terms: (1) Pakistan will consider Kashmir as an integral part of India. (2) Pakistan will not do proxy war against India by using terrorists. (3) There would be no third party like UN or US. The issue should be solved through India - Pak talks only.

@Younis khan And who is seeking your advice? They are not terrorists. JI is a mainstream political party in Pakistan and they have every right to participate in the democratic process. Let people be the judge.

@Indian Christian - "Kashmir as an integral part of" who? Its disputed territory. Reality doesn't change by denying it!!!

@Harmony Kasmir King signed the treaty of accession to Indian Union at the time of independence and so is a part of India. Pakistan invaded the area doesn't mean that it belongs to you. But the real disputed area is Balochistan.
