KARACHI: The Sindh Minister for Prisons, Anti-Corruption and Mines and Minerals, Manzoor Wasan, termed on Friday “false and misleading” news reports about an inquiry said to have been conducted by him regarding the drought in Tharparkar district.

In a statement released by media cell of the PPP, Mr Wasan described news items about the ‘inquiry’ report as “a heinous conspiracy agai­nst PPP and the Sindh government”.

He said the documents characterised by media as an inquiry report were fake. “I will carry out an investigation to expose the elements behind the fake inquiry,” the minister asserted.

He said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah’s efforts aimed at mitigating the effects of the drought in Tharparkar district were laudable.
