ISLAMABAD: US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson said on Sunday the United States condemned the senseless terrorist act at the Wagah border post.

The US ambassador on behalf of the American people extended his heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the families of victims as well as to the government and people of Pakistan.

He said the United States supported Pakistan’s efforts to bring all those involved in planning and executing this attack to justice and was ready to provide any appropriate assistance in this regard.

“This act demonstrates terrorists’ blatant disregard for life,” he said.

“The United States remains steadfast in its commitment to the people of Pakistan in their efforts to counter terrorism, uphold the rule of law, and build a peaceful future for themselves and their children,” a US Embassy press release quoted the envoy as saying.
