Blue passports

Published November 1, 2014

IT has been learnt that our parliamentarians have requested the government to issue them blue passports. It is said this would help free them of the need to secure visas of many countries and will provide them special counters at airports for check-in.

In a country already fed up with the ‘VVIP culture’ such requests are highly inappropriate.

As they are public representatives, I think they will have no problems in getting visas, nor will they have to face any difficulty in getting checked in at any airport. These men and women are mostly from the affluent class and are never short of perks and privileges within their own environment.
