TOBA TEK SINGH: Farmers from Tara Haveli village along the River Ravi are concerned over irrigation department’s move to build a spur on the river near their farms.

Lumberdar Muhammad Amer and Mujahid Kharal told reporters just to save the farmland of a landlord from the erosion, the proposed place for the spur had been changed.

They said the spur at the new place would cause erosion to the farms of small farmers of the area.

Burala Irrigation Sub-Division Officer Mukhtar Husain Bhatti said the survey was under way to choose a suitable place for the spur and the technical feasibility of the new spur would be preferred.
