The 'Clean India' campaign was officially launched less than a month ago and has since continued to gain immense momentum.

Initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the campaign has become India's biggest ever cleanliness drive and aims to make the country significantly cleaner by the year 2019.

Many Bollywood celebrities left their swanky pads and came out on the street to contribute to the cause. Here are some of the big names in B-town who got their hands dirty for a cleaner India:

Amitabh Bachchan

Clad in comfortable attire, the veteran star swept the roads and picked up trash.

Kick-ing off the drive in Karjat, the actor picked up the broom and did his part to set an example for fans:

Sachin Tendulkar

The beloved cricketer posted a video on his official Facebook page to inspire others to come and help out in their pursuit for a cleaner India. Modi personally nominated him as one of the leaders for the drive.

Hrithik Roshan

The Bang Bang! leading man posted a picture on Twitter with some students, emphasising the importance of involvement by the youth of the country.

Many other celebrities also expressed encouragement for the impressive initiative and their desire to actively participate in the near future.
