GWADAR: A 10-year-old girl died and three others, two security personnel among them, were injured in a gun-battle in Panjgur town late on Friday.

According to official sources, armed men fired shots and rockets from nearby mountains on an FC checkpost in Cheetkan town. Troops retaliated and chased the attackers and during the heavy exchange of fire two girls playing outside their home were hit. Two FC men also suffered injuries.

Fazila, 10, and Mehran, 8, and the wounded FC men were taken to the hospital by security personnel. During treatment, Fazila died.

“Condition of Mehran is serious,” said Dr Kahoor Khan.

Rockets missed their targets and landed at a distance from the checkpost.
