ISLAMABAD: The Anti-car Lifting Cell (ACLC) on Friday arrested a car thief and a ‘receiver’ (in charge of taking the car out of the city) during checking on I.J. Principal Road and recovered a car, a jammer system and weapons from their possession.

According to police, one of the ACLC teams headed by Inspector Faiz Ahmed Ranjha received information that some car thieves may be found if cars are searched in certain areas of Islamabad.

The team intercepted a suspicious vehicle and discovered the items.

Those arrested were natives of Charsadda and Battagram. During initial investigation they confessed to stealing cars from Islamabad and Rawalpindi and preparing bogus number plates and documents for these cars in Peshawar.

SSP Asmatullah Junejo appreciated the ACLC team for their vigilance and issued directives for enhanced vigilance.
