PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has claimed that his government has made all preparations for holding the local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that other provinces had only formed local councils to hoodwink the masses.

Talking to various delegations from Nowshera at CM Secretariat here on Monday, he said that besides fully empowering the village, tehsil and district councils, 30-35 per cent of even the provincial resources were being transferred to LG bodies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to be spent on people’s welfare.

He said that youth, women and neglected segments of society had voted PTI to power, and the party was trying its best to come up to their expectations.

He said that PTI-led government’s foremost target was to strengthen institutions and restore people’s confidence in them.

Mr Khattak said that PTI-led coalition government was introducing uniform system of education and reforming primary and higher education, besides focusing on providing quality technical education to youth.

He said that new avenues of employment would be explored, adding that his government was taking drastic steps to restore peace to the province.
