ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) on Monday cut off power supply to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's Bani Gala residence.
Iesco has cited non-payment of electricity dues as the reason of disconnecting electricity supply to Imran’s residence.
Imran's Bani Gala residence has three power connections — two for the main residence and a third for a tube-well.
Earlier in September, federal minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif had said at a news conference that Imran had been paying his electricity bills despite having given a call for civil disobedience on Aug 18.

Asif had said that the PTI chairman’s two electricity bills of Rs17,000 and Rs13,000 had been paid. However, days later, on Sept 20, Imran set fire to his electricity bill receiving cheers from a crowd at PTI’s Islamabad sit-in.
Imran gave a call for civil disobedience on Aug 18 and asked people not to pay taxes and utility bills to force the government accept his party’s demands.
PTI lashes out at govt against overbilling, loadshedding
PTI’s core committee has challenged the government against overbilling in electricity bills and loadshedding, demanding a justification.
In a press release issued today, the party asked that despite paying off circular debt on pretext of ending loadshedding, how and why power outages have increased after this payment.
“Why has there been Rs70 billion over billing?” they added.
The party also raised questions over money collected through electricity price hikes.
“Electricity bills went up by 80 per cent and despite that a loss of Rs 1 billion a day continues. So question is where this money from raised rates is?”
The PTI core committee demanded that the ‘looted money’, which it claimed was accumulated by the government by raising electricity rates, be returned to the public and those responsible be brought to justice.
“Despite raised rates, the government has done a dacoity on the nation by overbilling in electricity bills to the tune of billions of rupees.”
The committee reminded that the PTI has already taken the matter to the courts.

Alas! this attempt from Iesco proved that IK is sincerely obeying Civil disobedience movement. From Govt. part it's another ax on their own feet... how?
Couple of months ago, the power & energy minister (Abid Sher Ali) was in the forefront, accusing IK of misguiding the nation by saying to the public that "IK himself is paying his bills regularly while at the same time calling Pakistanis to follow the Civil disobedience movement".
The minister's lies to the public are revealed by the govt. organization which works under his command. But the question is, would he ever held accountable for telling lies and misguiding people? I am largely feel pessimistic about it.

There is law of Jungle in Pakistan. Normally in such case you get first one or two warnings and if you still donot act then you will be taken to court. But in Pakistan, there you use all laws to get your own benefits in this case , the current govt. There should be an end to such so called Democracy where general public has nothing but problems.

imran should no longer use govt power supply grids at all. let them dictate others to slavery not him.. i stand with him on everything he is saying and doing why so?? COMMON sense must prevail. come on pakistan people show us that you have some common sense still left in you.. its not such a big price to pay.. Coups normally come with much higher sacrifices.. this is NOTHING...

IK's question is very simple. PML(N) government has raised electricity bill by 80% within one year of their rule but load-shedding is still the same, people are still suffering with hunger, sky-rocketing food prices, higher petrol prices, no improvement in ordinary people life so where the money is gone?
The government should answer this simple question and then ask people to pay the electricity bill. But we know PML(N) will not answer this question because we know that our money is going in the pockets of their family members and the other corrupt politicians supporting them.

According to the law and procedure of billing, a consumer must be notified in it's 2nd issued bill that the previous month's bill hasn't been paid as well. How could they cut his meter if he hasn't paid the bill for 1st month? Shouldn't he be receiving a 2nd Bill which would also include the non-payment of the previous month?

He is just fooling you all that he is in the container only Qadri stayed in his container that was air-conditioned unlike his followers that were living in the most harsh realities and he had no bad feelings about that too.

Imran Khan has funding from UAE, India & USA to destabilize the current government, so that work on Gwader port is halted. For if Gwader port becomes fully functional and a point of trade for Chinese imports and exports, Pakistan will come out of poverty. One of the first thing Man Nawaz Shareef has done is hand over the port to the Chinese and undertaken plans to connect the port through rail and road with China. This game is bigger then rigging, its about keeping Pakistan poor and Imran Khan is working on behalf of foreign agents.

Burning his electricity bills in front of public, asking overseas Pakistanis not to sent any money to Pakistan, asking public not to pay their bills, & storming Public buildings like Parliament House or Pakistan radio, .... what great examples he is setting to be a law-abiding citizen & he thinks he should be the Prime Minister of Pakistan who could get this country out of all the problems. He needs to learn how to act in a civilized manner & to obey the laws of the land at any cost.

@para .Number 1 the electric bills are based on the electricity used by IK. Now if he does not pay, it means he took some thing from the company with out paying which boils down to a theft. These are not income taxes. To me the guy is very stupid and he has stupid advisers who advise him not to pay electric bills. If he runs power generators, it will cost him more. He is going to go broke pretty soon like Qadri who is now asking for donations to bring a revolution. Most of Qadri followers have either lost their jobs due to extended Dharna or had no jobs. Now how they are going to give donations when they have no money, no jobs and no food.

I am Mr Khan and I don't need electricity because I have generators. I am from elite class I have my own planes, several mansions. I also have protocol as if I am a PM and yes I need separate VIP exit from rally stadiums. I will help poors and will make new Pakistan because I have all the luxuries and last thing I only pay 50,000 rupees in taxes. Long live Pakistan at least for me.
