Pakistan thump India to qualify for Polo WC

ISLAMABAD: Sports enthusiasts of Pakistan, who were disappointed by the dejected performance of cricket team, have got something to cheer-for as the national Polo team defeated India by 9-8 to qualify for next year's Polo World Cup.
Pakistan beat India in the qualifiers of the FIP World Cup Zone D play-offs, played at Tianjin China, said a press release issued here.
India got a flying start in the match and took a 4-1 lead after initial rounds, but Pakistan fought back to level the match 8-8 and eventually won it 9-8 in sudden death stage.
It was Muhammad Saqib Khan Khakwani who scored the winning goal in sudden death period. Saqib was adjudged as the “most valuable player” for his outstanding performance during the game.
Pakistani team was led by Team Captain Major Haseeb Minhas. The team also included Zain Khakwani and Ahmed Ali Tiwana.
Reserve players were Sufi Muhammad Amir and Ahmed Nawaz Tiwana while team manager was Qublai Alam Khan.

Congratulations to the Pakistani Polo team! BTW, 'thump' means to defeat heavily. And I don't think that winning a match by a margin of 9-8 is called 'thumping'!

@Bharat Kumar Jaiswal Last time we played you in Asia cup you were beaten. Before that we came and beat you at your home and normally your batsmen who are quiet accustomed to 300+ scores could not even score a 250 in any of the matches played. You were beaten again and i am talking about cricket. Perhaps you were in a sleeping beatish comma state and are not well versed with current affairs

Congratulation to Pakistani polo team. wish this game is promoted more in Pakistan. In 1995 I have seen Cycle polo being played in D I Khan by Nawab of Tank s Sons and their friends. They use to play on horses and cycles both. Polo playing on cycles is affordable and great sport. I wish some one start this in Pakistan.

What is wrong with Indians commenting on this forum? Pakistan won, congratulate and move on..What do u want to prove by saying that this was not a thumping win and we defeated them in Hockey and Cricket ...?
