SWABI: Two women were killed when unidentified assailants entered their house and opened fire on them in Kotha village here on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at Mohallah Bubakhel in the jurisdiction of Topi city police station. But it was not immediately clear as to what was the motive behind the attack.

However, local people alleged that a burqa-clad attacker entered the house and opened fire on the women when they resisted the robbery attempt. Both the women were killed on the spot. The deceased women were identified as sister of Abdul Majid and wife of Umer Dad Khan. The victims’ family told police that they had no enmity with anyone. The police were yet to register FIR in the case.

Separately, a youngster identified as son of Ameen Khan committed suicide after eating poisonous tablets following a verbal brawl with his parents. The victim died while being taken to hospital in Peshawar.

Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen attacked a money changer in Topi bazaar in broad day light on Tuesday and decamped with cash. It was not clear how much money the robbers took away with them. However, the attack created panic among the people. Police said that they had been investigating the incident.
