Talha, Maheen crowned champions

KARACHI: Talha Zubair Surmawala defeated Zuhair Raza in straight sets in the men’s singles summit clash of NBP Open Ranking Tennis Championship at the DA Creek Club here on Monday.

Although it was expected that the summit clash would be a neck and neck encounter, Talha proved too good for his final opponent Zuhair and recorded a convincing 6-4, 6-2 victory to claim the title in style.

Meanwhile, Maheen Dada thrashed Hania Naveed and record a formidable 6-1, 6-0 triumph in the climax of ladies singles event.

Sahibzada Mohammad Ali clinched U-17 singles title after beating Ibrahim Iltafat in the final 6-3, 6-2.

The duo of Akbar Hayat and Hamayon zapped Dawood Nasir and Fakruddin in final of 55-Plus doubles event recording an impressive 6-0, 6-1 win.
