TIMERGARA: A man was stabbed to death after an altercation in Chakdara here the other day.

The police identified the deceased as Aftab, 25, and said they had arrested the suspected killer and seized the dagger used in the crime.

According to them, Parhezgar slightly damaged the pickup van of Aftab while parking his car.

Aftab demanded repair of the pickup causing exchange of heated arguments between him and Parhezgar.

Infuriated, Parhezgar went home and came back with a dagger and stabbed Aftab, injuring him critically.

The injured man was taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Chakdara, where he succumbed to injuries afterwards.

The police registered a case and began investigation.

They said they had arrested the suspected killer and seized the dagger used in the crime.

MEETING CALLED: District education officer (male), Lower Dir Hafiz Mohammad Ibrahim has convened the ‘tournament meeting’ of the heads of the high and higher secondary schools in the district on Friday (Sept 26).

According to a handout issued here, the district games among high and higher secondary schools in the district will begin on Oct 15.

The Sept 26 meeting has been called to decide about the playgrounds for the games.

The DEO directed heads of all schools to ensure their attendance in the meeting.

RATIONALISATION POLICY REJECTED: The Insaf Teachers Association, Lower Dir, has rejected rationalisation policy for teachers and the recent transfers in the province.

They demanded that the government review rationalisation policy and withdraw transfers made under it.

The demand was made during a meeting of the association here the other day in Mian Banda area.

Provincial vice president of the association Sirajuddin chaired meeting.

The participants unanimously demanded that the government provide at least one teacher for every class in primary schools and ensure recruitment of one CT teacher for 30 students in all high and higher secondary schools in the province.
