LAHORE: CIA police claimed to have arrested 15 terrorists and recovered four suicide jackets, 20kg explosive material, 15 hand grenades and 16 klashnikoves in the current year.

CIA SP Umer Virk told this during a meeting to review CIA police performance here on Sunday.

He said the police arrested 3,203 accused and registered 1,904 cases of abduction for ransom, blind murder, dacoity, attempted murder and robbery besides recovering gold ornaments worth Rs 306 million, vehicles, foreign currency and illegal weapons. He said 649 proclaimed offenders were also arrested during the same period.

The police arrested 60 drug pushers and recovered 150kg hashish, 10kg heroin, 4kg opium and 1,300 bottles of liquor.

CIA police registered 237 cases and arrested 276 accused for having illegal weapons and recovered 619 rifles, guns, pistols and 407 magazines and over 100,000 rounds.
