KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has set up a committee to look into the assets of all elected representatives and office-bearers from the day they joined the party.
According to a statement released from London on Tuesday, the decision was taken in a meeting of the MQM coordination committee held in Karachi and the British capital on “bringing reforms in the affairs of the party”.
The ‘asset committee’ will be headed by former MNA Kanwar Khalid Younus.
It will gather details about the financial assets of “all ministers, senators, MNAs, MPAs and other office-bearers of the party”, the statement added.
Mr Hussain also decided that no member of the coordination committee or minister of the MQM would attend any marriage function.
