PESHAWAR: The province’s premier female education institution, Jinnah College for Women, clinched almost all the top positions in the BA/BSc examinations of University of Peshawar.
The results of the annual BA/BSc examinations were announced by the administration of the university on Monday.
Haifza Fatima Rehman, a student of Jinnah College for Women, got overall top position in the examinations by securing 497 marks. She also topped in the BSc category.
In the Bachelor of Arts category, Wajiha Riaz and Farhana of Jinnah College for Women jointly stood first as both of them secured 420 marks. Abjina Riaz Khan, a private candidate, and Ghuncha Shah Tawab of JCW jointly secured second position while third position went to Asma Qayyum of Army College for Women Education.
Aliya Masood of FEF College got second and Zainab Iqbal of JWC got third position in the BSc category.
The results were announced by the controller of examination in a ceremony held at University of Peshawar wherein the position holder students and their parents participated.
UoP Vice-chancellor Dr Mohammad Rasul Jan was chief guest on the occasion. He gave UoP souvenirs, certificates and cash prizes to the award winners.
The vice-chancellor announced scholarship to all the position holder students in pursuance of their higher education at University of Peshawar.
He said that UoP was one of the greatest seats of learning of the region. The ceremony was attended by Registrar Dr Syed Fazl-i-Hadi, deans of faculties, director admission, officials and staff of the university.
