ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday started construction of Service Road-East in Sector E-12 after taking possession of 1,300 kanals.

The CDA had launched Sector E-12 about 25 year ago, but development work could not be started due to land acquisition issue.

A CDA official said the authority had now taken possession of land from the affected people through an agreement. He described it as a breakthrough for development work in the sector. The civic body would start building service roads in the sector after completion of Service Road East, he added.

Under the agreement, the affected people will give possession of the land in phases. So far, the CDA has allotted about 300 plots to the affected people in Sector I-12.
