PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani has directed the police personnel to tighten noose around terrorists to establish durable peace in the province.

He was speaking at a function held here on Monday in connection with the distribution of commendation certificates and cash prizes among policemen of Hazara division for playing effective role against outlaws.

He said that KP police personnel had been laying down their lives for restoration of lasting peace in the region.

Mr Durrani appreciated the performance of the police personnel by tracing the culprits involved in an attack on a police van on June 20, and directed them to maintain the same progress so that crime could be eradicated from the area.

Miscreants had blasted a police van in Darra Bani area with an improvised explosive device, in which two police jawans were killed and the van driver was injured. A police team was constituted to trace the culprits, which had arrested three culprits, allegedly involved in targeting the police van.

The police chief said all requirements of Torgar police would be met on priority basis.

The IGP awarded Inspector Shah Mohammad and SHO Judba Sub-Inspector Mohammad Saeed tanoli with cash prizes and commendation certificates.
