ISLAMABAD: Police officials admitted to the Polyclinic complained that they were not being taken care of properly and the PTI activists were being given ‘preferential treatment’ in the hospital.

Constable Zarhan said his left eye was hit by a stone hurled by a protester. “When I was shifted to the hospital on Saturday night, the doctors did not pay any attention to me even though my eye was bleeding.”

He alleged that the doctors were paying more attention to the injured activists of PTI and seemed least concerned about the policemen.

After waiting for over an hour, a surgeon attended me and gave me first aid, he said.

However, Deputy Executive Director of Polyclinic Dr Fayyaz Ahmed Sheikh denied the allegations.

He said the hospital administration never extended any special or preferential treatment to any patient.

“For us both PTI activists and the injured policemen are the same,” he said, adding: “They are our patients and we cannot give preference to any of our patients.”
