Amazing siblings

I HAD the honour of attending the special lecture delivered by famous mountaineers Mirza Ali and Samina Baig, organised by Aga Khan University.

The young siblings from Gilgit-Baltistan mesmerised the audience with their heart-touching success story in perfectly articulated expressions. From the remote village of Shimshal Gojal Hunza to the ‘hall of fame’ the two had to brave all odds under extremely harsh weather and negative psychological conditions. The ‘I can do it and I will do it’ attitude was dominating in their narration.

The University Hall was filled to capacity with adventure lovers and they gave a standing ovation to the young guests. I have attended many such lectures but this was different and something extraordinary. It was a treat to be there with my children to see the youth at its best. Good luck, Samina and Mirza.
