KARAK: Principals and headmasters have been directed to get vacated the buildings of government schools from the internally displaced families of North Waziristan Agency before the end of summer vacations.

District education officer Zahid Rasheed Khattak told a meeting of principals and headmasters of government schools here on Friday that the administrations of the schools should behave politely with the IDPs to get the buildings vacated before resumption of academic activities.

He said that the educational institutions of the province would be opened from September 1 and the IDPs should vacate the schools so the academic activities could be started with full swing.

Meanwhile, a labourer was killed and another sustained critical injuries when an under-construction room collapsed in Chani Khel area.

Local people said that Sawab Gul and Aseel Khan were busy in constructing a room when a wall collapsed, burying them under the debris. The villagers retrieved the two men from the debris in critical condition and took them to district headquarters hospital where Sawab Gul succumbed to injuries. Aseel Khan was referred to Peshawar in precarious condition.
