ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Mohammad Anwar Khan Kasi on Friday dismissed bail application of a person accused of stripping naked a teenaged girl student.
The accused, a resident of sector G-6/2 Katchi Abadi, not only tore her clothes but also made a video through his mobile phone.
According to an FIR registered with the Aabpara police station, the brothers of the girl student had a minor scuffle with the wife of the accused in the second week of May.
On May 23, when the girl was returning home after purchasing some eatable items from a shop, the accused intercepted her and forcibly took her to his home.
According to the contents of the FIR, the accused and his accomplices began tearing her clothes. When she tried to cry for help they played music loud. The FIR alleged that the accused continued to torture the girl and also filmed her miseries on the mobile phone for about half an hour.
After extending life threats to the girl, the accused finally let her go without providing her proper clothes and the girl returned home half naked.
The accused in his post arrest bail petition contended before the court that he was innocent and at the time of occurrence of the crime he was not present at the spot.
The petitioner stated that the prosecution could neither produce a single witness against him. It could not even recover any incriminating material from him which would establish his involvement in the offence.
The petitioner, however, admitted that the case needed further investigation and till the final decision he was entitled to bail. Justice Kasi observed that the offence levelled against the accused was heinous in nature therefore the court could not grant him the bail.
