KARACHI: The Sindh government on Sunday banned pillion riding in the city for five days, including the Eid holidays.
Officials said the Sindh home department issued a notification stating that the pillion-riding ban would remain in effect till Aug 1.
Home secretary Niaz Abbasi said that the ban would come into effect immediately — July 27.
Senior citizens, women, children, personnel of law enforcement agencies and journalists would be exempt from the ban.
The officials said that the ban was imposed in view of security threats.
