SUKKUR: A landlord who had been kidnapped in a village within Garhi Yasin taluka was taken to a picket of the Abad police station in Jacobabad and shot dead.

Fida Hussain, 38, son of Mohammed Hassan Odho, was kidnapped in Mohammed Panah Odho village of Shikarpur district.

On Sunday, the kidnappers brought him in a car to the police picket, pushed him out of the vehicle and shot him dead, Abad police said.They drove away after committing the crime, they added.

They body was shifted to the Jacobabad Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination after which his relatives in Shikarpur district were informed of the episode.

The deceased landlord’s wife, Ms Zahida Odho, told the police that her husband had contracted a freewill marriage some time ago and his murder seemed to be linked with his new relationship.
