ISLAMABAD: A petition has been filed before the Rawalpindi sessions court, seeking action against a serving colonel for allegedly abducting a tractor driver.

The petitioner, Zulfiqar Mirza, claimed that on July 11 a colonel, who was driving his private car, met a minor accident with a tractor being driven by the petitioner’s son, Javed.

It stated further that the officer got off his car and abused Javed after slapping him. After which the colonel registered a first

information report (FIR) at the Airport police station against the tractor driver. However, the accused was granted an interim bail by the additional sessions judge.

The decision of the interim bail infuriated the colonel, who, with the help of eight other people, abducted Javed and his nephew Gul, the petition alleged.

The petition states that no action was taken against the abductors, when Zulfiqar Mirza approached the Airport police to register an FIR, despite the petitioner’s repeated efforts.

The concerned SHO showed reluctance in registering a case against the army officer, the petition claims.

Mirza requested the court to direct the police officials to register a case against the said officer.
