KOHAT/LAKKI MARWAT: The students of Cadet College Kohat have grabbed the top three positions both in the pre-medical and pre-engineering groups of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examinations 2014. The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) released the results on Friday.

In the pre-medical group, cadet Nasir Mahmood secured 994 marks of total 1,100 marks to clinch the top position, while cadet Tasneem Anjum and cadet Aetizaz shared second position with 993 marks each. Cadet Aftab Ahmed got 992 marks to settle for the third position.

In the pre-engineering group, cadet Faisal Ahmed got 967 marks, cadet Hamza Rawal 955 marks and cadet Mohammad Sadiq 942 marks and secured first, second and third positions, respectively.

In the general science group, a student of Government Postgraduate College, Kohat, Mohammad Shafique remained first with 849 marks. Institute of Sciences, Hangu, student, Mohammad Abdullah secured second position with 795 marks and Qurratul Ain of FEF Government Degree College, Kohat, stood third with 782 marks.

Gilrs outclass boys in Bannu board exams

In the arts group, Mohammad Usman of Government Degree College for Boys, Karak, got 886 marks to grab the first position, and Sultana Jabeen and Asia Bibi of Government Degree College, Kohat, obtained 799 and 793 marks and secured second and third positions, respectively.

Meanwhile, girl students have outclassed boys in the annual HSSC examinations 2014 held under the BISE, Bannu.

Controller of examinations Prof Mohammad Zahoor Khan announced the results at a function held on the premises of the Bannu board on Friday. Bannu BISE chairman Prof Mohammad Ishfaq, Secretary Raj Mohammad and position-holder students and their parents attended the function.

According to results, Zara Mehmud, a student of Government Girls Inter College, Bannu, stood first by securing 993 marks. Another student of the same college Fareeha Moheet got second position with 986 marks and Faisal Saleh Hayat of Cadet College Razmak, North Waziristan Agency, clinched third position with 980 marks. All the three students belonged to the pre-medical group.

In the pre-engineering group, the students of Government Degree College No 2, Bannu, grabbed the first three positions. Hamid Khan stood first with 944 marks, followed by Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamir with 940 and 933 marks, respectively.

In humanities group, Amber Hina of Government Girl's Higher Secondary School Ghoriwala, Bannu, got first position. She secured 915 marks out of 1,100. Sajeela Naz of the same school remained second with 874 marks and Anwar Shah, a private student from Lakki Marwat, secured third position with 848 marks.

Mr Zahoor said that 27,663 students appeared in the HSSC final examinations of which 20,437 were declared successful with the overall percentage of 74.
