Four Ahmadis booked for ‘preaching’

BADIN: The Tando Bago police have registered a criminal case against four men belonging to the Ahmadi community for allegedly preaching their faith.

Mohammad Ramazan Rustmani, a local cleric, who is also an office-bearer of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl), lodged an FIR (96/2014) against the four men — Abbas Gurgez, Idrees Gurgez , Mushtaque Ahmed Gurgez and Mohammad Khan Gurgez — under Sections 298-B (misuse of epithets, descriptions and titles, etc., reserved for certain holy personages or places) and 298-C (person of Quadiani group, etc., calling himself a Muslim or preaching or propagating his faith) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Tando Bago SHO Khuda Bux Panhwar told Dawn on Friday that the FIR was registered on the insistence of local religious leaders.

He said raids were being carried to arrest the nominated men but they had fled the village to avoid arrest.

Since the people nominated in the FIR had gone into hiding, it was not possible to obtain their version on the allegations.

Another shameless act. Just look at the Laws. I wonder where this brand of Islam is comming from in which others decide who can be called a Muslim? Pakistani Mullah's and the public who supports them do not even know the meaning of the word Muslim. In the Holy Quran, Allah Talah has called Hazrat Ibrahim PBUH as Muslim. All prophets as Muslims. The companions of Hazrat Isah PBUH are called Muslims. And all this in the Holy month of Ramazan.

This is the law. It is in our constitution. If you have a problem with it, then change the law and change the constitution. Whatever is being done, right or wrong ethically, it is being done in accordance with the law.

Just shocked to read in dawn that four Ahamadiyas were booked for just preaching. Some Pakistanis try to speak for all Indian Muslims using some stupid MLA's comments on Sania but they should look at the the plight of millions Ahamadiyas and other minorities in Pakistan. In many countries some rogue elements suppress minorities but in Pakistan there are laws enacted by the majority to suppress minorities. I am glad to see that many Pakistanis are deeply anguished at these events and are voicing their opinion and I hope in the future these draconian laws find their deserving place in the dustbin.

Some Pakistanis try to speak for all Indian Muslims using some stupid MLA's comment on Sania Mirza but the plight of millions of Ahamadis and other minorities in pakistan is scary. In other countries some rogue elements make trouble for minorities but only in Pakistan (oops! My bad! Pakistan is not the only one they have company in Israel) there are laws enacted to suppress other religions and minorities. I am glad that many Pakistanis are anguished by this news and voicing their opinion and I hope there will be some change in the future.

Is it not a shame that Muslims are killing Muslims. On the other hand Christian Churches in Gaza are sheltering Muslims and offering them place to pray and food. Hope Pakistani friends take a lesson from this, otherwise Muslims will lose all the trust of other faiths.

Muslims are allowed to preach in all Non Muslim countries but they dont allow a non Muslim to preach in their own countries.?. How come we as a Muslim can explain anything to Non Muslims that Islam is a religion of peace , prosperity and tolerance when we have such draconian laws in our country.

There should be same level of freedom for everyone. If Islam is the ultimate way of life then muslims have nothing to worry about. I am not an Ahmadi, but I strongly condemn the discrimination and oppression faced by the Ahmadi community.

Highly suspect this was done to grab their land. Many examples like this have been seen in the recent past where the minority flees the area to protect themselves and the accusers grab their property.

The law is not that as soon as FIR is registered, you arrest the accused. The law is that when FIR is registered, the police investigates, and only makes an arrest if it has the evidence to charge a person. The misuse of blasphemy law is that every time when anybody registers a case, the accused is first arrested and then rest will follow. The basic tenet of any criminal law is INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

This is very serious and our educated people should keep eye on qadianies. It is my thinking that the people who want to increase the conflict between shia and Sunni are mostly qadianies.qadianies also spreading the hardcore and narrowminded education in the wahabies madrasses. ...I think we should take the oath from molies and should also watch them carefully.
