RAWALPINDI: A student died allegedly after falling into a well in the limits of Chauntra police on Wednesday.

Muqaddas Bilal, 17, a class 9 student, left his house with his three friends in the afternoon, but he did not return home.

The boy’s friends later informed the police that Muqaddas had fallen into a well in Perial village. Rescuers pulled out the boy’s body and shifted it to the hospital.Ghulam Murtaza, the victim’s father, alleged that his son was killed by his friends who then threw the body into the well.

Inspector Malik Rafaqat, who is leading the investigation, told Dawn that the reason behind the boy’s death could only be known after the postmortem.

He, however, said, the victim’s father had accused his son’s friends of killing him.
