SMS alert service

The Excise and Taxation Department launched on Monday an SMS alert service (9989) for vehicle owners to provide them information about the registration and number plates or vehicle transfer issues.

Talking to Dawn, Excise Director Ahmad Saeed said SIMs had been provided to excise and taxation officers (ETOs) throughout Punjab who would receive SMS from vehicle owners seeking the information of registration and number plates of their vehicle or transfer process.

He said the facility offered vehicle owners to collect crucial information without visiting the office.

He said vehicle owners could lodge their complaint to ETOs or director excise in case of any fault of same service.
