PML-N to let PTI go ahead with march

ISLAMABAD: The government decided on Tuesday to let Imran Khan and his party go ahead with his scheduled Islamabad march on Aug 14.
This decision was taken at a meeting which Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held with senior leaders of his party to discuss the government’s plan for Independence Day celebrations on the day and the PTI march.
A participant of the meeting told Dawn that the prime minister asked his ministers to avoid creating an impression that the ruling party was under pressure and might opt for the confrontation.
He said that a traditional ceremony to mark the Independence Day would be held on the day to be attended by about 6,000 invited people.

The PTI has announced its long march will reach Islamabad late in the evening and, therefore, there is no chance of an overlapping of the two events.
Referring to a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office on June 20, he said it had been decided by the civil and military leadership to regularly celebrate Aug 14 and March 23 with military parades.
For security reasons, the government had stopped holding the parades over the last few years.
On the latest demand of the PTI for a complete audit of election results, the participant said that since Mr Khan had announced that he would unveil a detailed plan of action on Aug 14, the meeting decided to wait for the announcement.

However, the prime minister asked all party leaders to contact other political parties for evolving a broad consensus on electoral reforms for which a parliamentary committee had already been announced.

Good move Mr PM , learn from zardari, people know you are working hard to set things in order in this country and you need time. This is what PTI is afraid of so they don't want to give you time. Just carry on people are not blind people know what's going on exactly. Stay focused Mr PM. When time comes you have three times the street power of PTI to show off.

The decision taken by govt is appropriate. The politics of crisis and chaos has given nothing good to pakistan so far. IMRAN khan is the advocate of this politics. A failed KPK govt which is still unable to deliver good governance to its people has become throne in IK's ambitious claims . At this time political harmony and reconciliation is required to wriggle country out of numerous social evils and economic woes. The matter of IDP's is the case in point.

Why is it a PML-N 'to let' decision.
It is either a security issue OR not a security matter.
In either case the right to assemble and demonstrate, peacefully is basic; the decision MUST be made by the security establishment ... and a permit MUST be issued per simple application by the organizers of the march. THEN the PML-N and others should stand back; UNLESS there is trouble.

This is best way to expose him. I guess he would upgrade his agenda conditional to Govt dismissal as soon as he reached Isl.
Govt. should prepared in a way that even if they have to go for mid term, they are not worried. Just focus on all the hard work in development PML-n is doing...

Shareefs have 18 family members put on major positions, and many more in mid posts, like its a kingdom of pakistan rather then democratic country, daughter niece nephews son in law cousin 2nd cousins 3rd cousins.

Nothing will happen with these naunahal march, they are morally corrupt, just exploiting feeling of youth on street. If supported by establishment then may be interruption but I hope now establishment change mind as busy in SWA. Let PTI exhaust it resources. They failed to perform in KPK how one can expect PTI can run any institution in the country!

Better to be 2013 than 1990's which is what Sharifs and Zardari are. Only in Pakistan the same failed corrupt politicians can get voted in again and gain over several decades. This is why the world is going forward with Pakistan going backwards.

Nawaz has shown his maturity and allowed the PTI to go with their march to seek power by illegitimate means.
Imran should build his province in the remaining four years to showcase his achievement rather than wasting valuable time.

This is an excellent decision and is appreciated in its true spirit and letter. The maturity of PM has indicated once again to the destroyers of the peace and public safety that he endorses democratic activities to continue in Pakistan, regardless of the ongoing restrictive situation in the country. Now the responsibility of demonstrating solidarity to the armed forces stays with the titular and self-assumed leaders.

Very good decision by the Prime Minister. Let these jokers IK, TUQ, CHAUDHRIES and SR come out and lead the protest march. They will soon realise that people are not interested in the march to bring chaos in the country. We need peace and tranquility in the country and not march and destruction. I hope and pray that people will reject these so called leaders.
Prime Minister should announce and advise the people of Pakistan to plant One million trees on Aug.14 instead. Long live Pakistan

Zardari's statement ought to be taken seriously, not because he has any moral authority because he is one of the best indicators of which way the wind is blowing. I think he sees the wind against Raiwind.

Empty vessels make much noise. I speak for myself ; every friend I asked if they would vote for Imran again. The reply was an emphatic NO. Again, I have concluded for myself that Imran is living in a fool's paradise. Come August 14, I would judge how wrong or right I was. One thing is sure in my mind that Imran has definite chances of future success only if he delivers the goods in KPK. If he fails to do so, he will have to pack up and give up politics but remain a cry-baby.He can not change that.
