| PTI to file petition against Nawaz |
PTI’s Ali Mohammad Khan and Murad Saeed approached ECP today with regard to this issue. Khan and Saeed filed a petition in ECP against Nawaz’s nomination papers with a demand that action be taken against Nawaz under Article 62, 63 on the basis of which he is ineligible to become a National Assembly member.
MNA Saeed alleged that the premier is convicted in the Asghar Khan case and helicopter hijacking cases and must be dealt according to the law.
In a press conference held today, Saeed accused Nawaz of being acquitted in the Asghar Khan case on the basis of bribery, adding that he cannot be nominated for NA membership.
Recently son of former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, Arsalan Iftikhar challenged Imran Khan’s appointment in the National Assembly criticising him of not being "honest and trustworthy", adding that the latter did not fulfill the criteria for being a representative of the people, as set in Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
A senior PTI official said that the party has evidence that Arsalan has the support of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), and that the ruling party is pursuing every effort to prevent Imran Khan from marching to the capital on August 14.
Article 62 is the declaration from the presidential candidates affirming that they fulfil the qualification specified in Article 63 and that they are not hit by any of the disqualifications specified in Article 63, or any other law for the time being in force for being elected as the president of Pakistan.
In the Asghar Khan case, the apex court had directed the federal government to take necessary action under the Constitution and the law against Gen (retd) Aslam Beg and Lt-Gen (retd) Asad Durrani for their role in facilitating a group of politicians and political parties to ensure their success against their rivals in the 1990 elections.
Previously, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi had awarded life sentence to Nawaz of hijacking a plane carrying former army chief Pervez Musharraf and 198 other passengers in 2000.

These cases are all tried and nothing have been found - yes there is one thing that this petition will be turned down Insha Allah and then once again the PTI will come out once again crying and blaming the Judiciary. Its not time for tit for tat but think how to save Imran from disquaification.

@M.M.Sherazi Wait, less than 24 hours before the son of the former Chief Justice said that he was going to file a nomination against Imran Khan and the election commission agreed to provide his nomination papers.
But when Imran Khan does the same, you accuse PTI of aggressive policies targeting PML? I'm not a fan of either parties but isn't it sad that our Chief Justice's son is fighting the fight of a political party and is being nominated by it for political positions despite being accused of corruption in the past.
There are so many things wrong with this picture that I don't even know where to start.

What a non sense decision by PTI, that's why people use to say them Naunahlan e inqulab. Arsalan Iftikhar got paper from EC against Imran Khan and why entire PTI come up abusing PRime Minister? let the fight in court defend yourself if you are innocent? I think this will waive more credibility of PTI leadership as really they are problem could not settled in politics. PTI future is not different than AAP in India.... this is guaranteed!

Hope better sense prevails. The fight is between Imran Khan and Arsalan Iftikhar and now the PM is being petitioned against. The tsunami is getting nowhere. I think if it continues like this then TUQ might emerge as a better alternative to Imran Khan.

Mr. Arsalan Iftikhar was found hiding income from Federal Board of Revenue in Shoab Suddle commission instituted for finding facts of allegation leveled by Malik Riaz.. The commission reported that he showed an income of one crore against real income of five crores and if I am not mistaken recommended action against him. The PTI should take up this matter with FBR for prosecution

People just dont get it. Going after Nawaz is the main goal, why? Because Nawaz was the one who stole people's mandate and is now trying to get away with it. Imran Khan is doing what the situation calls for. He gave Nawaz many chances but Nawaz chose to play the dirty game because he knows he is guilty. Doing well in KPK along with bashing PMLN is the way forward. There is no other way this Dynasty system will end and democracy will come in Pakistan. People of Pakistan dont understand what democracy means because there isnt any. Pakistan is a big jungle. You cannot take care of people unless the system is straight.

This report contains so many factual errors, it was plane high jacking not helicopter, 62 63 is qualification to become MNA/MPA not president. Court ordered inquiry against politicians which was never carried out nor pursued by Ch Iftikhar's one eyed justice. This poor standard of reporting not expected from Dawn.

All the forces of status quo are united to prevent the change in system which if remains will prolong theirs' survival. People are considered more stronger than institutions. Its high time to make the institutions more strong than a person. Unfortunately in recent times the government's dealing with PEMRA, NADRA, POLICE, PIA, Election commission, etc., tells the opposite side of the story. The country is ruled like a kingdom which itself tells the sorry state of affairs. The government's seriousness (federal and provincial, especially Sind government) to the deteriorating law and order situation is evident to all. Point scoring and blame game is continued. There is nothing wrong in it if it is claimed that election is rigged. It is the responsibility of the concerned authorities to prove it wrong and if it is found correct then bring the culprits to justice.

Jobs ,Food , Electricity and shelter are the basic necessities of the life. These are the major problems faced by the general public. Peoples are languishing and dying due to price hikes. These basic needs are beyond the approach of a common man. Instead paying attention and resolving these issues PTI has only one agenda to confront PLMN and topple the government of Nawaz Sharif. Instead of setting up an example of good governess in KPK for the others to follow they have chosen the way of confrontation.This is not a positive thinking, only a path of destruction. PTI leadership are lacking in foresight and wisdom. Introduce the morale and decent ways of bringing change in the country instead of agitations. Imran Khan has lived in Europe he is fully aware about their political system. The kind of politics he is doing in Pakistan is the politics of European's. He learned nothing from there. He could not bring a change in himself. How he can bring a change in the country.

In fifties, politicians were fighting like cat and mouse, and nothing was being done. Consequently in 1958, Ayub Khan brought the revolution and democracy was derailed.
Now some hot-headed politicians are hurling accusations on the government and threatening the government with green revolution and long marches so they can get the piece of the pie without any consideration of the awam.

I am so disappointed in Imran Khan. Please let the elected Government work in centre just as PTI has been allowed to form a government in KPK. Wait for the next elections and let people judge you on your performance. I used to support PTI and now I don't. I am impressed by the way Nawaz Sharif has carried himself during the elections and after the elections. Please work for the country. It is not the time for street politics but for working together in solving the problems we face.

First they amateurishly launched night and day attack on Dr. Thair ul Qadri's residence, than didn't let Emirate Airline plane carrying Dr. Tahir ul Qadri to land at its scheduled destination, Benazir International Airport, made the plane go around over the airport for forty minutes and than diverted it to Lahore. Finally launched the corrupt son of corrupt CJ Ifthikar Mohammad Chaudhry, Arslan Ifthikar to take Imran Khan head on. IK launched a counter attack on Nawaz Sharif which could be prove to be disastrous for Noora league.

Imran Khan has learned nothing from his foreign experience, the peaceful transitions of political powers. He and his colleagues are ecstatic to topple the present regime. Instead of creating fuss and pandemonium for their own benefits they should pay full attention in resolving the problems of a common man. The must exert their full energy in providing the cheap education, food, electricity and free medical facilities . PTI should adopt the strong measures to create the job market which will help to eradicate poverty in the region. They should set up an extraordinary examples for the others to follow. No matter what they claim their achievements are. They are nothing unless they are visible.
