Six killed over land dispute in Kurram

PESHAWAR: At least six people were killed and 13 others were injured when two groups clashed during a jirga in Upper Kurram on Wednesday, DawnNews reported.

A jirga was under way to settle a land dispute in Khyber Agency’s Gaidu area when participants opened fire. Subsequently, six people were killed on the spot whereas 13 others sustained injuries.

The local people shifted the dead and wounded to a hospital.


Two killed, two injured in Bannu firing


At least two people were killed and two others were injured Wednesday when firing occurred in Bannu's Cantt area.

According to police, unknown persons opened fire on a rickshaw within the remit of the Cantt police station in Bannu. Subsequently, two people were killed whereas two others sustained injuries.

The injured persons were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital.

Police started an investigation into the incident.

The motive behind the firing could not be ascertained as yet.
